Virtual Public Meeting
The Survey of Income and Program Participation (SIPP), conducted by the U.S. Bureau of the Census, provides the most comprehensive information available on how the nation’s economic well-being changes over time. The Bureau of the Census works to balance two goals: providing access to the data, including to supplemental data from government records, while protecting the privacy of survey respondents. Protecting privacy becomes more difficult as online access to data increases. This study will examine how SIPP can best meet both goals.
This will be the fifth public meeting of the panel to discuss a Roadmap for Disclosure Avoidance in the Survey of Income and Program Participation (SIPP). This meeting will have an open and closed session. The open session will consist of a presentation from, and discussion with, Lars Vilhuber on the operational aspects of setting up a server to provide synthetic data. This meeting will be held virtually.
