Martin Eiermann is a postdoctoral fellow in the Sociology Department at Duke University. He holds a PhD in sociology from UC Berkeley and a BA in history from Harvard University. His current research examines how social histories and patterns of system contact shape life-course trajectories and racial disparities, with a specific focus on public health histories during the early twentieth century and child welfare system contact in the early twenty-first.
