Research Gaps and Opportunities to Advance Women’s Health

March 11 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm EDT

This is the first of two webinars – Assessment of National Institutes of Health (NIH) Research on Women’s Health
The National Academies is hosting two public webinars to highlight the persistent gaps in biomedical funding, research, and knowledge of diseases and conditions affecting women and girls. Breakthroughs to improve health and well-being for women and girls have lagged, in part, due to a lack of baseline understanding of basic sex-based differences in physiology. Researchers have an opportunity to bridge this gap and contribute to scientific understanding of how to prevent, diagnose, and treat conditions that are female specific, more common among women, or affect women differently.

Webinar 1 – Research Gaps and Opportunities to Advance Women’s Health
Authors from our recent consensus study report, A New Vision for Women’s Health Research: Transformative Change at the National Institutes of Health, will highlight research gaps and opportunities for clinician researchers and scientists to advance women’s health.
