Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias (AD/ADRD) are a collection of neurodegenerative conditions that can cause cognitive impairment and ultimately lead to the development of clinical dementia. These diseases pose a significant physical, emotional, and financial burden on individuals, families, and communities all around the world. Accelerating the development of effective strategies for preventing and treating AD/ADRD is therefore crucial to address the growing public health crisis posed by dementia and to provide hope to millions of people suffering from these conditions. A committee of the National Academies was convened to assess the current state of research on AD/ADRD and identify research priorities for treating and preventing AD/ADRD. The committee will hold a public webinar to discuss findings and recommendations from the resulting report. Questions from the audience about the report are welcome.
